The Lazy Prince and the Hardworking Princess
In the kingdom of Mabel lived a very busy king — King Bodden. Every day there was something new to handle: goat taxes, royal dinners, and even visits from relatives.
Finally, the king had had enough. "I'm retiring!" he declared.
Luckily, King Bodden had twin children — Prince Oliver and Princess Olivia — who would compete to take the throne.
Two Very Different Twins
Oliver loved sleeping and using magic to avoid work. Olivia was disciplined, organized, and determined to do everything perfectly.
"I cannot choose either of you," said the king. "You must prove yourselves in a magical competition. One round of questions and one round of challenges. The winner will rule Mabel."
Preparation
Olivia studied day and night, practicing spells and memorizing magical knowledge.
Oliver, however, tried to enchant lizards to read his spell books for him while he took naps.
"You don't even speak lizard," Olivia said. "Maybe I do," Oliver replied lazily.
The Magical Competition
Round One: Questions about magic.
- Merlin is typically associated with prophecy and shape-shifting.
- Thistle is used in protection spells.
- When levitating an object over water, one must consider weight and buoyancy.
Olivia answered every question correctly.
Round Two: The Duel
The twins faced each other in a magical duel. Their goal was to disable their opponent’s magic without causing harm.
In the end, Olivia outmaneuvered Oliver. "There will be no third round," announced the king. Long live Queen Olivia!
A Confession
Oliver admitted he had thrown the competition to avoid responsibility.
The king wisely explained that laziness often comes from a lack of direction, not a lack of ability.
A New Beginning
Olivia became Queen Olivia and ruled with wisdom and diligence.
Oliver discovered his true passion — studying magical lizards and helping build thriving communities across the kingdom.
✨ Moral of the Story:
Hard work and preparation lead to success.
Sometimes laziness simply means you haven’t yet discovered your true purpose.
